| Who Is DJ Donald ?
Well where do we begin, how about the beginning. Like most disc Jockey's I started Collecting music at an early age. As a kid any time I saved my money
and went to the store I would always buy various pieces of equipment or albums
and before i knew it I had accumulated quite a library of music. I started out just making tapes and stuff for my personal use, but soon my friends were asking me
to make them tapes. As my skills for making mix tapes increased, such as song
selection, timing, and Transitions, I started To sell these tapes that I made.
Not long after when ever one of my friends had a party or get together I would pack up all my music and equipment and lug it to wherever and just have a blast
playing all the music that I could think of. After a couple of years of doing this a friend of mine had a uncle who ran a few bars around the area and had heard some of my mix tapes and offered to let me play a couple times as a special set
disc jockey which was about 25 mins some where in the night. I was so excited that I didn't even think about asking for money, I just wanted to spin my records.
Oh back then dj's didn't use CD's or computers we actually used 12 inch vinyl records. Needless to say when my first set was over and i got paid 25 bucks or something like that I almost fell over. I couldn't believe that someone could actually get paid for simply doing what I considered to be a hobby.
After a while my playing time as well as my pay scale increased. All the while I
continued to make and sell mix tapes. One day one my coworkers told me she
was getting married and asked if I would play her wedding. Now weddings had never crossed my mind and I wasn't sure if I wanted to this. I had absolutely no
idea how to dj a wedding. Any way she convinced me to do it and offered to pay
me 350 dollars. Once again I couldn't believe that some one pay that kind of money for someone to play records. All I know is that I had never made that kind
of money working clubs.
After that I was HOOKED on weddings. I never had so much fun. Now over 12
years later I have worked hard to build my reputation to what it is today.
